ACY Securities ReviewCategory: Reviews | Author: Trading Brokers | Date: November 17, 2022
ACY Securities is an Australian broker that provides you with ECN trading via the user-friendly MetaTrader 4 (MT4) & MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platforms for desktop, web and mobile devices running on iOS or Android. You can trade an impressive selection of over 700 financial instruments across various asset classes including CFDs on Forex, Indices, Cryptocurrency, Commodities, Stocks & ETFs. They also have a good range of educational resources, tools, managed accounts and excellent customer support. I would put them up there alongside the very best brokers you can find for trading online.

ACY Securities was founded in 2013 in Melbourne, with the core business focus to provide cutting-edge technology to assist you with navigating the global financial markets.
In 2018, ACY Securities acquired Synergy Financial Markets (Synergy FX); a leading Australian forex dealer established in 2011 with tens of thousands of clients around the globe. The acquisition strengthened the brokers products and services whilst increasing its global clientele.
It is also worth mentioning that in 2014, ACY Securities partnered with the world’s fifth largest forex enterprise OANDA, to provide you with professional market analysis, educational tutorials and forex training.
Today, the broker gives retail and institutional traders access to ultra-low spreads from 0.0 pips, low trading fees and rapid execution speeds. There are over 700 assets which can be traded on the intuitive MT4 & MT5 trading platforms they provide free of charge to clients.
The broker has a wide network of top tier liquidity providers and invests in advanced trading platforms and technology. This enables them to provide you with efficient and fast execution using the ECN trading model. I appreciated how they operate on the key values of transparency, client-focus and technology. I would compare them to IC Markets in this aspect.
ACY Securities asserts that it is an ECN broker that has no dealing desk (NDD). This is great as it means that your trades get sent directly through to the markets you are trading. On the contrary, if you are using a market maker, they can take the opposite side of your position which may cause a conflict of interest. I would therefore always prefer to use an ECN broker.
The broker has deep interbank liquidity from 16 of the world’s biggest banks and other financial firms. Your orders are directly routed to the servers which are located at the Equinix data centre in New York and in Asia. This helps to ensure rapid and efficient processing of orders, at the best available prices. In terms of liquidity, Pepperstone are another top broker to consider.
ACY Securities is a regulated broker. This means that they must comply with rules and regulation to make sure they are operating with your best interests in mind. I wouldn’t personally worry about my funds when trading with them as they are regulated. Just keep in mind that the protection you are entitled to will vary depending on the entity that you decide to trade with.
Client funds are maintained in the Commonwealth Bank Australia and HSBC bank; these are top-rated international banks. The funds are kept in special segregated trust accounts which should not be used by the broker for its daily operations and should only be used to fund clients’ orders and trade positions. The records are carefully maintained and audited to ensure full compliancy to this policy which is a regulatory requirement. ACY AU and ACY LTD have Professional Indemnity Insurance for their respective clients, in compliance with ASIC’s Regulatory Guide 126 and VFSC’s Professional Indemnity Insurance requirements.
The brand has also implemented strict risk management procedures to help further protect its clients. Secured Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology has been activated on its websites and platforms to protect clients’ data during transmission to and from the servers. This further secures clients transactions and helps to protect their identity and data as they deal with ACY Securities. To ensure that the client’s funds are properly used and safe, ACY provides several modes of deposit and withdrawal, including Credit Card, bank transfer and international Transfer.
Whilst ACY Securities welcome clients from around the globe, they cannot accept clients from the USA. Clients from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia and Japan are onboarded with ACY LTD. If you are from a country that is not accepted, please feel free to browse our broker reviews for other options.
You have the choice to trade the global CFD markets from any of the brokers easily accessible trading platforms including the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms, which are used by millions of Forex & CFD traders all around the globe. They are well known for being very user-friendly and having a plethora of trading tools for conducting in-depth analysis whilst ensuring a seamless trading environment for desktop, web and mobile devices. Whether you choose to trade on MT4 or MT5, execution speeds at ACY are ultra-fast.
MetaTrader 4 (MT4)
MT4 is one of the most popular trading platforms used by traders around the globe, especially when it comes to forex trading. The MT4 platform is widely used primarily because of its excellent features and built-in tools that offer a comprehensive trading experience for users of all experience levels. You can choose from the MT4 WebTrader, MT4 desktop and the mobile apps for iOS and Android smart devices. I personally use the desktop platform for running automated systems and the mobile app for keeping an eye on the progress of my trades throughout the day.
MT4 supports multiple charting, analysis, trading and extension via plugin apps. You can build plugin apps for MT4 using the built-in MetaEditor and MQL4 programming language which is based on C++. Expert Advisors (EAs) are software robots which can be used to automate trading strategies. EAs can be built using MQL4, back tested over historical data in the MT4 strategy tester and installed on the MT4 trading platform.
MT4 supports multiple orders including market orders, stop orders and up to 4 pending orders. Charts of all the tradable assets can be displayed over 9 timeframes and multiple chart types including lines, bars and candlesticks. Chart analysis is done using 24 analytical tools and up to 30 inbuilt technical indicators. The platform supports thousands of indicators which is possible through plugin apps. The MetaTrader market is accessible from the platform. This is a market where you can acquire signals, indicators, EAs, etc and then, install and use them on your MT4 platform.
You can take a position with ACY’s MT4 platform on over 700 CFDs including shares, FX, indices, commodities, ETFs and much more. I think that this platform should be more than enough to meet the needs of most traders. If you require more complex market analysis indictors and trading tools, you could consider the brokers other platform MT5 which we will discuss later.
MetaTrader 4 Web Platform
The MT4 for Web platform provides you with a comprehensive set of tools and features. You can use Windows, Mac and Linux operating systems. I like that the platform and trading accounts are protected by the highest possible security measures.
ACY’s MT4 for Web platform enables you to connect to global financial markets at any time from any location. It is widely used by experienced traders due to its speed, ease of use, and reliability. It is good that the platform is always up to date and you don’t need to install any software to use it.
MetaTrader 4 Mobile App
The MT4 mobile app is developed for iOS and Android devices and can be downloaded from the respective app stores. I have used the mobile app to monitor the markets, enter positions, perform analysis, view and monitor account balances, open positions and read the news. The app is user friendly, light, stable and very fast.
It gives you access to live quotes, live charts and live trading as well as demo trading which is great if you don’t have any experience. I think that the MT4 app would be especially useful for those of you who wish to analyse the markets and place trades whilst on the go. I know that I am often checking trading apps from the sofa and even my bed.
MetaTrader 5 (MT5)
ACY Securities also let you trade on the advanced and powerful MetaTrader 5 (MT5) trading platform. MT5 is the successor to the MT4 platform and whilst it maintains a similar layout and most of the core functionality of its predecessor, it has more possibilities. This includes additional chart time frames, more order types, more technical indicators, depth of market (DOM) level II pricing, built-in economic calendar, multi-currency strategy tester and the ability to trade stocks in addition to FX, commodities and indices.
You can trade over 700 instruments on ACY’s powerful MetaTrader 5 platform, including CFDs on shares, FX, indices, commodities, precious metals, ETFs and cryptocurrencies. I actually think the MT4 platform should be sufficient for most retail traders. However, if you plan on trading full-time or want an institutional style setup with access to more stocks, you may edge more towards MT5. Just be wary, if you decide to change brokers at a later date, it is easier to find one who has MT4. That being said, Axiory also have both MetaTrader platforms.
MetaTrader 5 Web Platform
The MT5 for Web platform provides you with a comprehensive set of tools and features all within a convenient browser. You get access to the same level II pricing, deep liquidity feeds and spreads from 0.0 pips, all from your web browser. I find the web platform useful for accessing my account from different devices but I don’t like how it doesn’t support automated trading. For this, you will need the desktop version of the platform.
MetaTrader 5 Mobile App
You won’t have to miss a trading opportunity no matter where you are in the world with the mobile version of MT5. You can review, edit, change and execute all your orders from your iPhone, iPad, Android system or Windows system devices. The app is simple to use although it has limited functionality compared to the other platforms.
I think the MetaTrader platforms should contain more than enough trading tools for even the most demanding of traders. However, ACY do provide some additional trading tools to help with your daily trading activities.
These accounts are designed for money managers who trade on behalf of other clients (investors). ACY Securities provides the MT4 terminal platform which is used by the manager to bring clients on board, allocate trades to their accounts and perform other functions. Investors have the flexibility of depositing and withdrawing from their accounts at will and also assigning funds to managers.
Money managers can use multiple strategies including EAs, they can also hide their trading strategies from the investors. It must be strongly emphasised that historical MAMM/PAMM performance is by no means any indication of how it will perform in the future. You should have a clear understanding of the significant risks involved with trading online.
You can find a useful economic calendar on the website. The calendar gives a list of important events and their forecasted impacts on the financial markets. The time, date and importance level of the event is also shown. The country involved, impact percentage as well as the previous value is also shown. After the event, the forecasted impact and actual impact is juxtaposed.
Economic calendars are usually incorporated as part of a fundamental analysis of trading strategy. They can be a great way for you to quickly and easily keep up to date with the latest market news and gauge the possible impact that they can have on the market. I often use them to give me inspiration for trading ideas or to avoid potentially dangerous market conditions.
Finlogix is a free social trading platform that connects like-minded traders and investors together in the one place. The Finlogix platform is a great place for both new and experienced traders to learn and share their thoughts and trade ideas on any stock or instrument they want. It is one of the largest and most active community of traders in Australia.
ACY Securities provide you with a wide range of free learning resources to help you improve your trading techniques and strategies. I found there is an excellent selection to choose from. Whatever your experience, I think that everyone can learn something new.

Each webinar is very informative, runs for a good amount of time and suitable for traders of all experience levels.

ACY Securities offer a very generous selection of FX currency pairs (minor, major & exotic), cryptocurrencies, indices, commodities, precious metals, ETFs and over 700 stock CFDs across the NYSE, Nasdaq and ASX markets. With ACY, you can take a position on hundreds of the world’s biggest companies such as Apple, Facebook, Tesla and BHP through some of the world’s most highly regarded exchanges.
When trading CFDs with ACY, you are speculating on whether the price will rise or fall without needing to physically won the underlying asset. This means you can speculate both long (buy) and short (sell), depending on the direction you think the price of a particular financial instrument will move.
Whether you’re new to trading or a seasoned professional, ACY have three excellent account types on offer that include the Standard account, ProZero account and Bespoke account. You can choose the account that suits your needs. I found the spreads and commissions to be very good and comparable to other top brokers including XM Group.
For every account type, a leverage of up to 1:500 can be chosen by the client (varies depending on location and experience). The minimum trading volume is 0.01 lots and the minimum deposit is from $50. The account currency types are USD, AUD, EUR, GBP, NZD, CAD, JPY. Generally speaking, the more that you deposit, the lower the spreads and commission fees.
The minimum deposit is $50 and the minimum spread for the benchmark EURUSD starts from 1.0 pip. No commissions are charged as the trading fees are incorporated into the spread. This could be a good account for beginners who just want to practice trading in a live environment with a minimal investment.
The minimum deposit is $200 while the EURUSD spread starts from 0.0 pips. A commission of $6 per lot is charged per round turn on forex trading. This account type is what I would say you find as the standard account option with most brokers.
The minimum initial deposit is $10,000 and the EURUSD spread starts from 0 pips. A commission of $5 is charged per round turn on forex and metals. If you are using a scalping system, this will probably be your account of choice.
Swap free accounts are available from the standard accounts which can be converted by contacting the support team. These are Islamic friendly accounts that comply with Sharia law. I think it is great that they support people with different religious beliefs.
Demo accounts are freely available with $100,000 virtual trading capital for practice purposes. Demo accounts expire after 30 days and can be a good way for you to test out the trading platforms and your trading strategies. I always like to trial a broker on a demo to begin with to see if they meet my expectations.
If you decide to trade with ACY Securities, it is very easy to open a live trading account. Just visit the website, hover the mouse pointer on the ‘Open an Account’ button which is on the right-hand side of the menu bar to display the menu. Select your country and account type, then complete the 6-page registration form. I had no problems completing the signup process and even had a pleasant conversation with the support team upon completion.
The ACY Securities team is on hand to support all of your trading needs. They a highly professional, experienced and dedicated customer service team that provides every customer with personalised and high-quality customer support. The multilingual support team that works 24 hours a day, from Mondays to Fridays.
The team can be reached on instant web chat, telephone, email and a ‘contact form’ available on the website. On social media, ACY Securities is on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & YouTube. The ACY headquarters are in Sydney, Australia with other offices around the globe including in China & Taiwan.
I found the ACY support team to be very prompt, polite and efficient in their response to a variety of different questions. If you would prefer 24/7 support then you can have a look at FP Markets instead.
I like that there is a good choice of convenient account deposit and withdrawal options to choose from. The digital wallet options are great, it means I can deposit funds into my trading account instantly which is important if there is some major news I need to try and take advantage of. They don’t currently accept crypto deposit but Hugo’s Way do if that is something you need.
Bank Wire Transfer
This method is used to process deposits and withdrawals within 3-5 working days. No deposit fees are charged but your bank will probably charge a commission. International withdrawals are charged $25 per withdrawal. For Australian banks, 3 free withdrawals are given every month after which $25 is charged.
The options available are PayPal, POLi, Neteller, Skrill, PayTrust, Perfect Money, fasapay, Trustly, dragonpay, UnionPay. There are no deposit commissions. However, third-party payment processors may charge a fee.
All major cards are accepted. Deposits are processed instantly. Withdrawals to cards are not allowed.
Putting it all together, I think ACY Securities is a great broker that can provide suitable trading products and service to everyone. This is evident by the multiple awards that they have won over the years. You can trade a great selection of over 700 Forex & CFD trading instruments with very low spreads starting from just 0.0 pips, fast trade execution speeds and low trading fees.
It is beneficial that they provide both the MT4 and MT5 trading platforms. These are the industry standard and I find them to be extremely user-friendly and packed with features. This makes them a good choice of platform for new traders whilst being powerful enough to accommodate the most complex strategies for expert traders.
The eBook and trading courses provided are commendable and can help you increase their skills and knowledge. This emphasises that they want to encourage informed trading which I think if very important. You can get comprehensive market analysis and videos updated daily to the site with most days seeing 1-3 pieces of unique analysis and video created. They have even partnered with Finlogix to provide you with trading signals via this social trading platform.
The fact that they are regulated means that I can trade in confidence knowing that my funds are protected. They also put great emphasis on security of clients’ funds and offer excellent customer support in a prompt and friendly manner.
