Errante is an online financial services provider that lets you trade multiple financial instruments across different asset classes, including forex, metals, shares, indices, and energies. You can access the markets using the popular MetaTrader 5 platform which is packed with tools for conducting in-depth market analysis. The broker also has a decent selection of useful trading and learning tools which can help beginners who are just getting started. There is a knowledgeable client support team to assist you as and when required. The minimum deposit required to operate a live trading account is relatively low at $50 whilst free demo accounts are also available.

Headquartered in Cyprus, Errante is a broker formed by a team that has an impressive combined experience of over 30 years in the trading industry. They provide you with intuitive platforms for all of your devices so that you can trade and invest in a good selection of global financial markets. Amongst the main benefits of this broker are competitive trading conditions, including deep liquidity from top tier banks, commission free trading, multiple funding methods and tailor-made account options. I like how they have a variety of default accounts for different trading styles and even offer customised accounts so you can build your own solution. They are able to cater for retail, professional and institutional traders alike. However, there are some areas for improvement which we will go through in this review.

Our #1 Broker 2024

AvaTrade is an award-winning and multi-regulated broker offering a great selection of trading instruments including Forex, Cryptos, Stocks and Commodities. You can trade on all of your devices via user-friendly platforms with excellent trading conditions and no commission fees.

Between 74-89% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with this provider.

The broker is regulated in different jurisdictions. The available features and protection will vary depending on the entity that you decide to open an account with. I would always prefer to trade with a broker that is regulated by a top-tier authority as this gives me confidence they can be trusted with my funds. I want to be able to focus on my trading without being concerned about the integrity of the broker.

  • Errante is the trading brand operated by Notely Trading Ltd who are an Investment Firm authorised and regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC)
  • Errante Securities (Seychelles) Ltd is regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority (FSA)

Errante does not offer its services and products to residents of certain jurisdictions, such as the USA, Syria, China, Japan, North Korea, Iran, Belgium, and Canada.  If you reside in any of these localities or another country they do not accept, our compare brokers tool can help you find a suitable broker with your desired specifications.

Errante provides you with the MetaTrader 5 (MT5) platform from MetaQuotes. MetaTrader is widely regarded as one of the best trading platforms. MetaQuotes Software is a leading provider of industrial software products for financial markets. For the years of MetaQuotes existence, 5 trading platforms have been developed: MetaTrader 5, MetaTrader 4, MetaTrader, MetaQuotes and FX Charts. Currently, over 300 brokerage companies and banks worldwide have chosen to implement their software solutions to meet and accommodate high business and industrial demands.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Platforms

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Platforms

MetaTrader 5 (MT5)

MT5 was launched in 2010 and has since remained one of the most widely used platforms today. It is used by forex and CFD traders all over the world. It is powerful yet easy to use and has plenty of tools built-in for you to analyse the markets, place and manage traders. The fully customisable interface and advanced functionalities make it suitable for both new and experienced traders alike. The MQL5 editor allows you to create your own custom scripts, indicators, and expert advisors. You can also get a great selection of free and paid add-ons from the market place within the platform.

I switch between the older MT4 platform and MT5, both being very similar in terms of the look and feel of the platforms. Once you have mastered on of them, you shouldn’t have any problem using both. I actually still prefer MT4 as it is more widely available and slightly less overwhelming than MT4 in my opinion. However, you can really go wrong with either MetaTrader platform if you are looking for convenient market access with lots of options.

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Features

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) Features

I like the fact that MT5 is accessible through desktop, web, and mobile versions. As you might be away from your personal computer and need to check or change your positions, the mobile trading apps will help you keep track of progress whilst on the go.

Some of the key features of the MT5 platforms include:

  • Over 50+ technical indicators for analysing charts
  • 44 analytical objects for marking key price levels
  • Multiple chart types & 21 timeframes
  • Open unlimited charts to follow all your favourite instruments
  • Set price alert notification to keep track of price
  • Real time depth of market (DOM) price quotes in the market watch window
  • Run automated trading systems via expert advisors
  • Fully customisable user-friendly interface
  • MQL marketplace & community for add-ons
  • Build your own trading tools using the MQL editor
  • Available on web, desktop & mobile

As mentioned above, the MT5 platform is already loaded with tools and you can get plenty of add-ons for it. I believe most of you will find everything you need to build your trading strategies. You can create unique strategy templates to be as complex or simplistic as you need them to be.

However, it is nice to see that the broker provides you with some additional standalone trading tools to enhance the overall trading experience. These include trading calculators and an economic calendar that show scheduled market events and their expected impacts on the financial markets. You can get the economic calendar built-in the MT5 platform which is useful as it saves switching between tabs.

I think Errante could improve by integrating with some third-party market analysis tools such as Trading Central and Autochartist. These go one step further than the default MT5 tools by letting you setup customised trading signals based on an almost limitless range of possibilities. If this sounds like something you may be interested in, have both available free of charge.

Errante does provide a virtual private server (VPS) if you have a VIP account. I think the VPS is a great tool for running your platforms around the clock without needing your computer switched on. This may be of interest if you plan on running automated trading strategies with minimal downtime and your home internet connection is lagging.

There is a good selection of educational resources on the broker’s website to help you to make knowledgeable trading decisions and keep you in the know on some of the key factors that can move the financial markets. They include educational videos, market analysis, webinars and an FAQ section. I think they could improve in this area by adding some more comprehensive trading guides to help bring beginners up to speed. If you are looking specifically for educational content, you could consider Fortrade as an alternative as they have a good selection.

Educational Videos

There are educational videos for beginners and advanced traders. Beginners can learn the basics of trading and watch platform tutorials for MT4 and MT5. Advanced educational videos are unlocked with a minimum deposit of $300, which is disappointing. I would like to see everyone get access to the content as it is important to make sure clients have the knowledge to make informed decisions.

I am pleased to see that Errante regularly conducts webinars as these can be important from a beginner trader’s perspective. The broker’s professional traders conduct live webinars and share their experience in the markets with you. In addition, you can ask questions at the end of each webinar and further enhance your knowledge from someone who has been there and done that. You can register for an upcoming webinar or view past recorded webinars on the website in your own time.

Economic Calendar

The economic calendar is a useful resource for you to understand the fundamentals of a market. Nearly every day, there are economic events happening on a company level and on a domestic level that can shape the future of a company’s share price movement or currency’s strength. These events can be macro or micro, such as earning reports, interest rate decisions, non-farm payrolls, inflation rate, GDP, and many more. If you know how to use the economic calendar wisely, you can construct a trade idea after aligning it with your technical analysis.

Errante provides you with a margin calculator and swap calculator. A margin calculator can help you find your margin on an instrument with a specific balance. On the other hand, a swap calculator helps you find swaps long or short on your open positions on different trading instruments. These are handy tools that can help speed up trade preparation.

Market Analysis

In this section, you are provided with a daily market analysis of popular and most liquid assets. No matter whether you are a beginner or an experienced trader, I feel that the market analysis can help you build a trading thesis. I was actually inspired by some of the analysis and made aware of some potential market movements that I may otherwise have overlooked.

Errante offers a decent range of financial instruments including CFDS on forex, shares, indices, commodities, metals and energies. There should be enough for most to create a diversified portfolio but I would like to see them add some other popular asset classes such as ETFs, bonds, options, and cryptocurrencies. If you are searching for a broker with a larger portfolio, Firstrade provides thousands of trading instruments from various asset classes.

You can choose the account type that is most suitable for you from a choice of three different accounts. I like how there is a good variety of accounts for each type of trader. The spreads are reasonable if not the lowest. In saying that, there is no commission fee on the majority of the accounts as it is already accounted for within the spread.

The account types and their corresponding minimum required deposits are as follows: Standard ($50), Premium ($1,000), VIP ($5,000), and Tailor Made ($15,000) Accounts.

Trading costs for these accounts are as follows:

  • Standard: Spreads from 1.8 pips (commission-free)
  • Premium: Spreads from 1.0 pip (commission-free)
  • VIP: Spreads from 0.8 pips (commission-free), free deposits and withdrawals, Free VPS
  • Tailor Made:  Spreads from 0.0 pips (plus commission fee)

I like the VIP account from the default selection as it has the lowest spreads. This is important to me as I use automated systems and scalping strategies that need spreads to be as low as possible. However, they still aren’t the lowest that I have seen and the minimum deposit is quite high. On the other hand, IC Markets has spreads from 0.0 pips and a small commission fee, with a minimum deposit of just $200 in comparison.

The broker also provides free demo accounts for you to test the trading environment and practice your trading strategies. In addition, swap-free Islamic accounts that comply with Sharia law can be opened upon request.

The Errante client support team is available 24/5 to respond to your inquiries via the following contact channels: telephone, email, live chat, online contact form, social media, or by visiting their headquarters in Cyprus. I think they could improve by providing 24/7 support just like FP Markets do.

Account deposit and withdrawal requests at Errante are processed using any of the following payment methods: bank transfer, credit/debit cards, and electronic payment processors. This is a good selection of quick and easy funding options for everyone. I prefer the digital wallet options as I find this the most convenient way to move my funds around. Deposits are processed without any charges, but there are certain withdrawal fees for each funding option. You might want to check with your chosen payment provider if there are any other applicable fees that you will be responsible for. They don’t currently support crypto funding but KOT4X do if that is something which you are looking for.

Overall, Errante is a trading broker that offers multiple financial assets for trading and investing on the brilliant MT5 trading platform. The broker makes available some useful trading and learning tools and also provides a customer support team to assist you. There are multiple account options to suit all kinds of traders, although the lower spreads require a larger deposit. You can fund your account via a good variety of methods but there is an inactivity fee if you don’t trade for a sustained period of time. I think Errante could improve by adding some more asset classes, additional trading platforms, and further education to better grab traders’ attention. But you are free to try them with a demo account to see if they fit your needs.
