Capital Markets Elite Group Review

Category: Reviews | Author: Trading Brokers | Date: November 17, 2022

Capital Markets Elite Group (CMEG) are an independent financial services group that provides both retail and institutional clients with direct access to trade the markets via an excellent selection of professional trading platforms. You can buy and sell a good range of financial instruments, including equities, options, and ETFs. There are plenty of tools available which can help you with conducting in-depth market analysis so that you can find trading signals according to your own strategies. CMEG implement the latest technologies to ensure your trades have fast order execution speeds at the best available prices. The minimum deposit of $500 is not the lowest that I have come across but you can always try them on a demo account before making a financial commitment.

Regulation

One of the most important things I look for when choosing a broker is the regulation they have. I am pleased to see that CMEG is regulated in a few countries which gives me some confidence. Regulation means that they need to comply with certain rules and procedures that are put in place to protect investors.

Mondeum Investment Group Limited, a company registered in Saint Lucia as an International Business Company (IBC), is the holding company of Capital Markets Elite Group (UK) Limited, Capital Markets Elite Group (Cayman), and Capital Markets Elite Group (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited.

  • Capital Markets Elite Group (UK) Limited: the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA)
  • Capital Markets Elite Group (Cayman): the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA)
  • Capital Markets Elite Group (Trinidad and Tobago): the Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC)

The broker does not offer services to residents of some countries including the USA and Canada. If you find that they cannot accept clients in your country, please feel free to look for an alternative with our broker comparison tool.

Platforms

Capital Markets Elite Group provides traders with a suite of easy-to-use, powerful, and high-tech online trading platforms. CAP it ALL, Sterling Trader Pro, DAS Trader Pro, and Takion platforms are available for experienced traders. They also have the industry standard MetaTrader (MT4 & MT5) platforms available for all levels of traders. Unfortunately, there are certain platform fees depending on the platform you opt for. I am personally a big fan of the MetaTrader platform which has no fees and is widely regarded as one of the best trading platforms for CFD trading. Nonetheless, I really liked the broker’s other platforms due to their modern designs and functionality. In my opinion, the broker has more than enough platforms to meet the needs of even the most demanding of traders.

CAP it ALL

CAP it ALL can help you take your trading to the next level. CAP it ALL is a fantastic modern platform to boost your trading, with a clean, minimalist layout and all the customisable tools you need. It was created by traders for traders and can be accessed via the web, desktop, and mobile devices which is ideal for accessing your account whilst on the go. I was impressed to see that it includes level two market data as this can give you a detailed look into the price action. There are reasonable platform and data fees depending on the market data that you need access to.

Sterling Trader Pro

Sterling Trader Pro is a dynamic platform that is highly customizable. It is designed to provide valuable features for active traders and professionals who work with the rapidly moving electronic markets. The powerful performance and reconfigurability give you complete control over your trading. Customized alerts and risk tools make trading simple and with access to robust routing systems you are sure to enjoy lightning fast executions. I found it a breeze to use. It was easy to do everything from analysing charts to placing and managing orders. There are plenty of features to keep you busy and help you to make informed decisions based on comprehensive analysis. The negative is that it does incur platform and data fees but you can qualify for platform fee rebates by generating $499+ in monthly commissions.

DAS Trader Pro

Designed for day traders, Direct Access Software (DAS) is a powerful trading platform designed with leading trading technologies. With this robust and reliable platform, traders can take advantage of real-time market data, advanced features, direct access order routing, and more. Supporting its powerful executions, DAS is a preferred partner with Nasdaq and suited to provide instant streaming of the market data you need for optimal trading. With multiple drawing tools and 30+ indicators, DAS provides all the tools you need to analyse your charts and quickly react to changes in the markets. The intuitively designed DAS Web/Mobile lets traders and investors trade stocks and options on US major markets from a single account. With its friendly and easy-to-use interface, everything you need to customize your trading experience is at your fingertips. As with some of the brokers other platforms, there are platform and market data fees but you can qualify for platform fee rebates by generating $650+ in monthly commissions.

Takion

This is a powerful equities platform that is engineered by technologically-advanced code and algorithmic smart order routing. It is considered by some to be the ultimate best-in-class solution. The platform has been designed for active traders and professionals who work with the rapidly moving electronic markets. You can take complete control over your trading with Takion. I was overwhelmed with the vast amount of detail and features implemented within this platform. I would say it is more suited towards the professional traders. Those who are new to trading online may feel slightly lost in the complex interface. I think MetaTrader would be a better option for the beginners amongst you. Whilst this is an extremely impressive platform, there are platform and data fees which vary depending on the market data that you request access to.

MetaTrader

Things get a little more simplistic when it comes to the MetaTrader platforms. You can choose from both version of the platform, wither MetaTrader 4 (MT4) or MetaTrader 5 (MT5) respectively. They are the most widely used forex trading platforms that are unrivalled when it comes to trading CFDs. With MetaTrader, you can access an incredible marketplace of algorithmic and analytics plugins that may supercharge your trade-in minutes with the aid of trading robots and trading signals. It has multiple chart types and timeframes. This way you can get a good overview of the market and see what is happening in the short, mid to long term. MetaTrader is available as a desktop platform which has all functionalities. There is the web platform that runs directly in your web browser without needing to download or install any software. Then you have the trading app which I find really useful for keeping track of open positions whenever I feel like it.

MetaTrader Platforms

MetaTrader Platforms

MT4 is my platform of choice as I find it so easy to navigate and can create customised chart templates based on my own preferred indicators. That being said, both platforms are very similar so if you learn how to use one of them, you shouldn’t have any issue using the other. They are widely available which makes it easier should you decide to switch brokers at a later date. I also think that MetaTrader is the best platform for automated trading. There are plenty of free and paid automated strategies you can get from the MQL community. You can even create your own in the MQL editor which is built-in the platform. If you don’t have coding skills but do have an idea, the MQL freelance website can be a great place to hire someone to develop your own automated system (expert advisor).

Tools

The platforms are packed with an abundance of superb trading tools that allow you to conduct in-depth market analysis and get the best out of your trades. These tools include scanners, risk control tools, market trends, asset managers, and much more. CMEG doesn’t have any other standalone tools which would usually be a negative point from my perspective. However, as the choice of platforms is so good, this is something that can be overlooked in this instance.

Education

There is a section on the CMEG website where you can get access to some market trends and insights. This can help you to deepen your understanding of trading and investment topics through regular deep dives into global financial markets, trends, insights and strategies. I found there to be a good collection of eBooks, articles and videos. These cover various topics and could even inspire trade ideas. If you are looking for more educational content, FXTM has a great selection.

Markets

CMEG provides you with a range of online trading and investment products. You can trade forex, equities and ETFs. US stock transactions initiated through Capital Markets Elite Group are typically conducted via an electronic exchange, like ARCA or NSDQ or using a floor broker on the NYSE. ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds) allow a trader to have exposure to a pool of investments which aren’t actively managed and are bought and sold together like a stock on an exchange. Many ETFs are designed to track a specific index or industry and can include stocks, bonds, options, commodities or real estate.

Accounts

The broker provides traders with a choice of two live trading account types: Standard and Active Accounts. The Standard Account is designed for position traders and long-term investors, while the Active Account is designed specifically for day-trading. Also, while the minimum amount needed to open an Active Account is $500, the Standard requires no initial deposit. They offer per terminal pricing and market data based on your specific needs. There are no hidden costs which is great.

I am pleased to see there is a demo account for practice purposes. This can be a good way to familiarise yourself with the brokers platforms risk free and see if their services meet your needs. Unfortunately, Capital Markets Elite Group does not have swap-free Islamic accounts as many other brokers do. If you are of the Muslim faith and want an interest-free account, you can try CAPEX, as they do have Islamic accounts.

Support

CMEG provides you with access to a knowledgeable client support team who are available weekdays, Monday to Friday, during working hours — 9 am to 5 pm. The support team can be contacted via telephone, email, and social media. I found them to be very prompt and polite to respond to the various questions put forward to them.

Funding

This is an area in which I think there is room for improvement. Bank transfer is currently the only option available for account funding and withdrawal at Capital Markets Elite Group. The availability of multiple payment options such as credit/debit cards, electronic payment systems, and cryptocurrencies can help more traders process transactions with their preferred option. If you want a greater variety, IronFX have a generous selection of funding options.

Conclusion

Overall, there are many aspects of the Capital Markets Elite Group services that I am impressed by. In particular, they have an excellent choice of professional platforms that are loaded with more tools than most of you will ever need. Whatever your trading strategy, there are platforms and tools for traders and investors of all levels. The broker can cater for retail and institutional client alike, with very competitive trading conditions. This includes direct access to major markets and multi-asset investments. They are known for extensive market intelligence, advanced technology, and having a knowledgeable client support team. Despite the many positives, I think they could improve by adding some more funding options and lower the minimum deposit to make their services more accessible to a wider audience. However, these are minor hiccups and certainly not deal breakers from my perspective.
