Motif Overview

Motif is an online brokerage offering a range of investment products including initial public offerings (IPOs), data-driven thematic portfolios, market-linked certificates of deposits (CDs), automated investing and more. In addition to the differentiated investing strategies, clients also have access to insightful ideas, advanced algorithms and an innovative award-winning platform.

Morif was created in 2010 by founder and CEO Hardeep Walia to give everyday investors access to innovative investment products. Since then, it has reached impressive milestones and continued to expand its financial services.

There are currently more than 350,000 customers who trust this online brokerage with their investing, with clients including Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and US Bank. They are located in the United States and headquartered in California.

What Motif is primarily doing is making thematic investing more precise and accessible through the innovative use of data science and automation. Thematic investing looks to identify long-term trends that are likely to drive disproportionate earnings growth in the future.

Motif’s approach is to utilise data science to uncover the most important trends that are driving the economy and to quantify the companies who have the maximum exposure to these trends. They make it simple to invest in these companies by creating dynamic thematic models that can be deployed in a range of financial products for individuals, financial advisors, and institutions.
