Summary

Blueberry Markets is an Australian ECN broker offering online trading to clients worldwide. They provide you with a decent choice of 350+ tradeable instruments on multiple asset classes including Forex, Cryptos, Commodities, Indices, Metals, Energies & CFDs.

I found them to have tight spreads starting from just 0 pips on the Raw ECN Account, very competitive low commission fees and leverage of up to 1:500 for the VFSC entity and 1:30 for the ASIC entity. You can open an account with a minimum of just $100 deposit and choose from 5 convenient funding methods. I think they have a very diverse offering that can meet different trader needs.

Trading Conditions

Liquidity is aggregated from 12 tier 1 banks and ECNs to provide real time pricing. They implement a complex and robust infrastructure that incorporates innovative trading technologies to ensure that your trades are executed quickly and spreads remain as tight as possible.

Blueberry Markets believe in offering long term value and work alongside you to help you prosper and become successful. Professional account managers are on hand to assist you day and night.

The founder of Blueberry Markets states “I founded Blueberry Markets because I love seeing clients succeed and wanted to help make that happen. We’ve built a platform that encourages that success. The goal of Blueberry Markets is to have the most profitable traders in the industry.” In my opinion, I believe that they have achieved this and a lot more over the years.

Regulation

The Blueberry Markets Group is a trading name of Eightcap Pty Ltd. Eightcap is regulated by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) with AFSL number 391441 and Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC), with registration no. 40377. This gives me confidence that I can trust them with my funds. As an ASIC regulated entity, Blueberry Markets must abide to the highest standard of Australian corporate governance, financial reporting and disclosure.

Funds

Client funds are held away from company funds in a segregated trust account at National Australia Bank (NAB). This helps to ensure that your funds cannot be used for any other purposes.

Countries

Blueberry Markets accept clients from around the globe apart from a few countries including the USA and Japan due to regulatory constraints or Anti-Money Laundering/Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) deficiencies. If your country is not accepted, you can find an alternative using our broker comparison tool.

Platforms

MetaTrader 4

Blueberry Markets provide you with one of the most popular trading platforms, MetaTrader 4 (MT4). MT4 is developed by trading software company MetaQuotes. It is free to use and available for desktop (Windows / Mac), web and mobile (iPhone / iPad / Android / Tablet).

MT4 Platforms

MT4 Platforms

MetaTrader 4 (MT4) is used worldwide by millions of traders of all skill levels. I find that it has a user-friendly interface and wide variety of trading tools including 30+ built in technical analysis indicators, 23 analytical objects and support for automated trading with expert advisors (EAs). There is everything that I need to analyse the markets and manage my positions.

The MT4 MetaEditor allows you to code your own custom indicators and EAs in the MQL programming language. There is a strategy tester that can back test EAs over historical data downloaded directly from the broker. This can let you see how a robot may have performed historically speaking.

Other MT4 features I find useful include real time price quotes in the market watch window, 9 timeframes, multiple chart and order types, one-click trading, notification alerts, templates, marketplace with thousands of additional tools and much more.

The web version of the MT4 platform can run directly in your web browser without you needing to install any additional software. The mobile trading app is useful for those of you who wish to access your trading account and trade whilst on the go from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. It is available for download on both Android and iOS devices from the relevant app stores. I am a big fan of the app as it lets me see what is happening in the markets whenever I feel like it, without needing to power up my laptop.

MetaTrader 5

MetaTrader 5 (MT5) is another popular trading platform that you can use with Blueberry Markets. It is the successor to the MT4 platform, with faster processing times, the ability to hedge your positions, advanced pending orders and more professional tools and indicators to help you take your trading to the next level, MT5 provides exceptional features to help you stay ahead of the markets. The MT5 trading platform is available for desktop, web, and as a mobile app.

MT5 Platform

MT5 Platform

Although MT5 was released after MT4, a still prefer to use the older platform. That is probably because it was the latest version when I got started trading online. However, I do use MT5 from time to time but just find MT4 more user-friendly in general. I think it is more than capable of being enough if you are a casual trader. Those who need more complex capabilities may actually prefer MT5. Either way, I don’t think you can go wrong with each platform.

Social trading is possible through the MT4 platform using built-in signals or third-party solutions. If you are looking for a dedicated social trading platform, eToro are the industry leaders. For the cTrader platform, FXPIG is an option that I would look at. If you need FIX API trading, Darwinex would be amongst my top choices.

Tools

Blueberry Markets do not offer you any standalone trading tools although the MetaTrader platforms should have more than enough trading tools to satisfy the needs of even the most demanding traders. Eligible clients can apply for a free virtual private server (VPS). If you want lots of trading tools, Markets.com have an excellent selection. GO Markets provide both Autochartist and Trading Central which I find are fantastic for trading signals.

Virtual Private Server (VPS)

Blueberry Markets offer a free VPS if you trade a minimum volume of 10 lots per round turn in a calendar month. A VPS is useful as it enables you to run the trading platform 24/7 without needing your own computer switched on. This can be useful if you need to run automated trading systems around the clock and for those of you who want latency of 1 millisecond to the Blueberry Markets trade servers. The VPS has an 100% uptime guarantee and comes with 24/5 technical support via live chat and email. I personally use a VPS that costs me around $30 a month. I find it ideal for running expert advisors on multiple instances of the MetaTrader platforms 24/7 without needing my computer switched on all the time. If you want to run automated systems, you can also get access to a free VPS from other brokers, including Switch Markets.

Education

At this time Blueberry Markets have a selection of YouTube videos to help educate you and ensure that you have the knowledge to make informed trading decisions. If you are new to trading, Fortrade have lots of free educational resources to help you learn more about the markets. I also like ActivTrades as they provide market analysis and one on one training.

Markets

Blueberry Markets offer over 350+ instruments for you to across multiple markets including Forex, Cryptos, Commodities, Indices, Metals, Energies & CFDs. Although I find them to cover a good range of asset classes, they don’t quite compare to some of our best brokers, some who have thousands of instruments available for you to trade.

Forex currency pairs include majors such as the EURUSD & GBPUSD along with minor and exotic crosses. Some of the most popular indices are available including the AUS200, UK100, GER30, JPN225, SPX500, FRA40, EUSTX50 and US30. They also offer online trading on spot Gold (XAU/USD) and Silver (XAG/USD) whilst there are two grades of oil (WIT & Brent) available for trading.

If you are looking for plenty of instruments, IG would be my top choice as they have over 17,000 global markets to choose from. TMGM also have a generous selection of more than 15,000 for you to trade, putting them amongst our best stock brokers.

If you plan on trading forex using strategies that require the lowest spreads at all times, IC Markets have spreads from just 0.0 pips on major currency pairs. I found them to be the best forex brokers overall, along with Pepperstone.

If you want to trade cryptos, then I would consider XTB as a good option. You can also check out our best crypto brokers for more alternatives.

Accounts

Blueberry Markets offer two main account types; standard and professional. They aggregate price feeds from a variety of different liquidity providers which I found can give you tight spreads and good execution. The spread on your trades will depend on the type of trading account that you choose to open.

If you require tight spreads for scalping strategies, the professional account would probably be best as it has the lowest spreads. However, there is also a commission fee of $7 on your trades. The standard account on the other hand gives you spreads from 1.0 pips which is still relatively low. It also does not charge any commission. When you compare them, the difference in overall cost is probably not that significant.

I found the trading conditions to be on par with competitors including FXTM. If you want to make a small investment just to get a feel for trading online, TD365 have a minimum deposit requirement of just $1.

Other brokers who have a good choice of account types for you to choose from include PU Prime. For those of you who need managed accounts, ACY Securities are worth consideration. If you want high leverage, Traders Way offer 1:1000.

Standard Account

On the standard account spreads start from 1 pip and there is no commission charged as broker costs are included within the spread. The minimum deposit required for this account type is $100. It has a minimum position size requirement of 0.01 lots and has access to all trading instruments on the MetaTrader platform.

Professional Account

The Raw ECN professional account has spreads starting from 0 pips with a competitive $7 commission charged per standard lot, per round turn. The minimum deposit required for this account type is $1,000. It has a minimum position size requirement of 0.01 lots and has access to all trading instruments on the MetaTrader platform.

Demo Account

Demo accounts are available to test the different platforms and conditions before opening a real account. I always like to test a broker on a demo account to begin with. Although it is not quite the same as trading on a real account, it gives me a rough idea of what to expect if I was to make an investment.

Support

Blueberry Markets provide clients with first class customer service that is available 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. I have always found support to be very responsive and you can reach them via phone, email and online live chat. I like the live chat option as it usually means that I can get an answer to my question right away. You can get 24/7 support with other brokers including Bold Prime.

Funding

Blueberry Markets have a variety of convenient methods for depositing and withdrawing funds to and from your trading account. This includes bank wire, credit card and online payment systems such as Skrill. Please note that some methods may only be available to specific countries and not all are available for both deposit and withdrawal.

I personally like to use online payment processors as I find the funds land quicker. I don’t really want to wait around days for a bank transfer to clear and incur unnecessary fees during the process. If there is a market move that I need to act quickly, I want my funds readily available as soon as possible.

There are no fees for withdrawals, subject to terms and conditions. Your withdrawal requests can easily be made via the withdrawal form from within the secure client area and are processed within one business day or less. Bank transfers may take a few business days to clear whilst some methods can be instant. In the case of unforeseen circumstances, withdrawals may take longer.

Some payment systems may have transaction limits, restrictions, and requirements which are indicated on their respective websites. You may need to verify your account to remove limits on particular methods in some countries. All funds deposited into your trading account must be under the same name as your Blueberry Markets trading account. Blueberry Markets strictly does not accept third-party payments.

Accounts can be opened in AUD, USD, CAD, GBP, NZD, EUR, SGD. The different currency options are beneficial as currency conversion fees do not apply when using an account in your own currency.

I found FXPRIMUS to have the best selection of deposit and withdrawal options. For crypto funding you can consider Hugo’s Way.

Conclusion

Blueberry Markets is an Australian owned, client focused and multi-regulated online brokerage offering you the popular MetaTrader platforms for trading 350+ instruments. You can choose between commission free accounts with a marked up spread or an ECN account with a tighter spread and low commission charge.

With Blueberry Markets, you can trade 44 global currencies pairs, commodities trading in gold, silver and oil, cryptocurrency and CFD trading in nine global indices and ASX200 shares. I think there is a good selection but I have certainly seen many brokers who offer more global markets.

I found them to be client focused with a very efficient support team. I believe that they have good trading conditions that would be suitable for most day traders. You also get access to a maximum 1:500 leverage, convenient funding options and they even offer a free VPS if you meet a minimum trading volume.
